Keep your attention watch who plays aggressive and who's playing tight so you can pick your moves better.
Be Patient don't get drawn into playing weak hands because you haven't had good cards for a while. Take
your time in deciding how to bet in pots you are involved in and think about the possibilities of the other players hands.
Watch the chips and be aware of the stacks around you. Be wary of going into pots against big stacks
as they are more likely to call bets on draws and slightly weaker starting hands.
Watch position keep track of where you are in relation to the button as this often helps you decide on
cards to play. Only play strong cards in early position and be prepared to bluff more in late position.
Ace High dont get drawn into playing any ace as often it is overvalued when with weak kicker. Only play
ace ten or better or ace suited.
Be selective only play strong hands unless on the blind
Be aggressive when you have strong hands pre flop. You dont want players limping against your aces and
hitting a cheap flop. Slow playing a big hand can reap rewards but you need to have a good read of the other players involved.
Match your play to the game. Different game types have different styles of play, tournaments are long
games with a final goal and you should play these types of games different from cash games where you can leave anytime. Tournament
play is more patient whilst cash games are more aggressive.
Remember poker takes a short time to learn and a lifetime to master. Learn from your mistakes.
